Randy talks candidly about his lifelong struggle with drug addiction, his strong emotional support from his family, and his time in prison.

Randy is 55 years old.  He grew up in Dallas.  Randy’s parents, who are now 82, met at their Alma Mater Southern Methodist University (SMU) and have been married nearly 60 years.  Randy’s father was a physician in Dallas; his mother was a hands-on stay-at-home mom.

After graduating from Richardson (Texas) High School, Randy attended Stephen F. Austin college, in Texas.  Shortly thereafter, Randy got married.  He then began investing in his passion, photography, which he turned into a 30-year career.  Randy regularly donated his time and skill as a professional photographer to many local charity events, most of them centered on Children’s Hospitals (Randy, a professional photographer, would snap photos at the events, at no cost). Randy also built a family.  He has two daughters and a son and is especially close to his daughters and mother.  One of Randy’s daughters is an ER Nurse in Oklahoma, the other graduated recently from a make-up design school and is pursuing a career as a professional make-up artist.  Randy’s son is in college.  All his children are still in their 20s.

And, as of July 14, 2020, Randy is a new grandfather.  Beyond his family and career, Randy has lifelong friends who have stuck by him, his lengthy prison term notwithstanding.  His friends are all hard-working members of society who do not have criminal records – e.g., an attorney, a CEO of a local company, a nurse, an accountant and so on.

Until Randy’s present federal prison term, Randy had never spent a day in prison.  And despite his incarceration, his friends and family remain close, which speaks volumes.  To that end, Randy’s support system is unwavering and robust.  If he were to be granted Clemency, he has a home to go to, a family who would welcome him with open arms, friends who would provide emotional support, and a skill-set (as a professional photographer) that would allow him to earn legitimate income.  In short, Randy has a life waiting on him that is rich in relationships with family and friends.
